2023 Fall Live Online Class

  • 10/31 to 11/30  1 Classes anytime 9:00am-9:00pm $30/12 online tests  Location: 16100 NW Cornell Road Suite 210 Room 8

    This class includes 12 online tests to help 3rd graders who have passed the CogAt screening tests to prepare the full-length CogAt test. The class will go through the 6 sections in 2 full length CogAt tests to learn the strategies for each section but focus more on solving the hard problems

    Students may also ask an online practice account to practice more as needed.

    This is the CogAt test preparation class for 3rd-grade students in Elementary school to qualify for the TAG program. The purpose is to let students study the test skills and get better performance in the test.  The long term benefit of this class is to help students improve the cognitive and reasoning abilities by learning logical and creative thinking behind the materials, which are critical for their future success.

    The 3rd & 5th graders will go to take the CogAt test at school in Fall,  A student in K-3rd grade who scores with 99 percentile at CogAt will qualify for the TAG program in Elementary school. A student in 4th-6th grade who scores with 99 percentile at CogAt will qualify for the SUMMA program in Middle School.

    The first 5-week of the class will focus more on the 3 screening sections: Verbal Analogies, Figure Matrices, and Number Analogies. And then we will have a few more sessions to focus on the other 6 sections for students who are invited to take the full-lenght CogAt tests.

    The CogAt screening test will be given to all 3rd graders in BSD schools at the end of October or the beginning of November each year.

    Students who get 97% or plus in the screening test will be invited to take the full test later in the Fall term. Students who get 99% in the full test will qualify for the SUMMA program in Middle schools. 

    Sunshine will provide all testing materials for students to practice with. We use the online practice test with instant scoring and report along with the classes. All online practice test reports are saved in your Sunshine account and you may check your child's performance via the "Assessment Tests" link in your account.

    This class includes 12 online tests for the full-length CogAt test preparation. It's to help students who have passed the CogAt screening tests to prepare the full-lengh CogAt tests.

    All those online tests will be automatically graded. You will be able to see your test report immediately after submitting your test and be able to check the correct answers in your test report. The 1-hour class will review those tests first and then do more practice with the challenge parts to refine the test skills and strategies.

    This is the CogAt fundamental training class for Kindergarten-1st grade. The class will build up the fundation and skills for students to take the TAG test in the next school year. 

    The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a multiple-choice test designed to measure a child's academic aptitude. It is used to measure cognitive development among children and is often used to identify gifted children for admissions into gifted and talented programs across the United States.

    The goal of this class is to have the young students familiarize with the test format. But a more important goal to set up this class is to improve the cognitive and reasoning abilities by learning the logical and creative thinking behind the materials. The verbal skills and some figure cognitive skills in the CogAt test may take more time to build up, which are the common weak areas for most students.
