The goal of this program is to reinforce what students learn in school while introducing advanced math skills to help them excel. In class, we ensure that students thoroughly grasp new concepts and methods, while off-class math practice is assigned as homework to deepen their understanding and foster a love for math. Based on each student's actual comprehension, we adjust the level of practice or provide challenge problems to match their needs.
This course mainly uses the Singapore Dimension Mathematics Series of KA, KB, 1A and 1B. Students will be placed in where they are ready to learn based on the assessment test.
Singapore math is to teach students to learn and master mathematical concepts in greater detail as well as having them learn these concepts using a three-step learning process: concrete, pictorial, and abstract.
To add more challenge for advanced students, we also selectively use the following Singapore Math supplementary material in class: Singapore Math Intensive Practice, Challenging Word Problems, and Process Skills for Problem Solving. Singapore Math supplementary material deepens mastery of core concepts. We even add the math League/math Olympiad practice to level 4 above students who want more math challenge.
Students beginning in 3rd grade typically start with Dimension Mathematics 3A. For students in grades K-5, a free assessment test is provided to determine accurate placement when joining the class. It's common for students to begin at a lower level than their current grade, as many other math programs may not be as advanced.
Once enrolled, students follow a teacher-guided process that includes instruction, practice, review, and testing, allowing them to progress at their own pace.
