This course is designed for motivated middle school and high school students who are eager to build a strong foundation in cybersecurity and compete in leading national competitions. Students will study core topics including operating systems security, application security, cryptography, reverse engineering, web and binary exploitation, Cisco networking, Red vs. Blue defense strategies, and essential programming and scripting skills. Emphasis will be placed on the defensive aspects of cybersecurity.
Throughout the year, students will form teams to participate in competitions such as picoCTF (March), CyberPatriot (September–January), US Cyber Games (June), and additional events.
Classes meet regularly twice a week, totaling 5 hours per week (excluding holiday breaks):
- In-person: Saturdays, 6:30–9:30 pm
- Online: Wednesdays, 8:30–10:00 pm
Prerequisite:
At least one year of Python programming, completed at Sunshine Elite or through an equivalent program.
