 Sunshine will post the 2021-2022 merit-based scholarship list for our students by Jun 18. Students are taking contests outside Sunshine may apply for the Sunshine scholarship here:

 Another good news is, to help our students to achieve higher, Sunshine invited our previous students Gopal Goel (2021 IMO Silver and 2020 IMPhO Gold Medal) and Ram Goel (2021 MOP) to give two seminars on how to achieve high in competitions and 2 classes for AMC10/12 and AMIE/USAMO in Summer. We will finalize and post the schedule next week.

We are excited to announce the Sunshine Annual Award Ceremony event, where we will present awards and certificates for all STEM competitions we hosted during the 2023-2024 school year. Additionally, the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards ( via Sunshine Youth to Youth Club for the 2023 calendar year will be distributed too. Below is a list of STEM competitions and projects that Sunshine and WVA have supported or hosted:
  • Math: Math Kangaroo, Math League, Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle School, Math Counts, AMC8/10/12/AIME/USAMO, ARML
  • Science: Science Bowl for Middle School, Northwest Science Expo
  • Computer Science & Engineering: ACSL programming, FLL/FTC Robotics, Nasa Projects.

In addition to the official certificates and medals from these competitions, Sunshine will announce the Sunshine/WVA scholarship awards for the winners. The winners list will be published on the Sunshine website by June 1st.

  • 4:20 PM - 5:00 PM: Onsite Sunshine Fun STEM Challenge Competition for Grades 4-7 (Awards for single challenge winners and top overall winners)
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: 2023-2024 School Year Competition Awards
  • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Round Table and Information Highlights
    • Math & Math Competitions
    • Science and Science Projects and Research: Pathway from elementary, middle, to high school
    • Computer Science & AI: ACSL, USACO Contests, Cyber Security Camps, FLL/FTC Robotics Team and Competitions
    • Physics & Engineering: NASA Projects for middle and high school, F=MA & USAPhO contests
    • College Prep & Application Advisory sign up: High school study plan and how to prepare and excel in your college application 
    • The President's Volunteer Service Awards: Honor the most outstanding volunteers and recognize the impact they make. 
All are welcome to join us! This is not only for celebrating our students' achievements, It's also for encouraging more students to participate in the STEM competitions, and for parents to gather valuable information about STEM programs and College prep resources.

- WVA MathCounts Team Won Championship in 2024 State MathCounts 05-02-2024

For the third consecutive year, the MathCounts Team from Willamette Valley Academy has secured victory at the 2024 MathCounts State Championship

Our students had an exhilarating Saturday at the state MathCounts competition. Congratulations to John for clinching victory in the countdown round and securing the fifth position statewide! Additionally, congratulations to Joseph for claiming the third spot and Keshav for an impressive second-place finish!

A special shoutout goes to Coach Manny Norse, who will lead Oregon’s team in the national competition. This opportunity arises from the first-place performance of WVA’s team, comprised of Anika, John, Joseph, and Keshav. Well done to all!

We are hosting an Open House event on April 27 from 1:00 to 4:00PM for families interested in grades K through 8.  We will be sharing new and existing programs and curricula for those grade levels.  Both current and prospective families are welcome!

- Register for Spring Break Camp (Mar. 25 - Mar. 29) 02-29-2024
Sunshine Elite is delighted to offer spring break camp. The day camps are specially crafted for elementary and middle school students. Mornings are dedicated to explore the academic advance curriculum at Sunshine with Math, Reading and CogAT, while afternoons are filled with a diverse range of engaging activities like Speech and debate, creative writing, coding, Lego Robotics and Chess.

- Sunshine Elite FLL Challenge Team of Lego Robotics Won Top Awards in the Tournament at Intel. Both FTC and FLL Challenge Teams goes to State Competition for the first year. 02-15-2024
This is a summary of Sunshine FLL Challenge Team achievements in the year of 2023. The team got two top awards in the tournament at Intel last December:
1. First place in Robot Design Award
2. First place in Core Values Award

For the first year, both FTC team and FLL Challenge team are eligible for the State Competition after a series of tournaments.
