2022 Fall Live Online Class

  • 09/14 to 10/14  10 Classes Wednesday,Friday 5:00pm-6:30pm $315/term Location: Online19

    This is the CogAt test preparation class for 3rd-grade students in Elementary school to qualify for the TAG program. The purpose is to let students study the test skills and get better performance in the test.  The long term benefit of this class is to help students improve the cognitive and reasoning abilities by learning logical and creative thinking behind the materials, which are critical for their future success.

    This class is an intensive test preparation class which will go through all 9 sections in CogAt tests, but with more focus on the 3 screening sections: Verbal Analogies, Figure Matrices, and Number Analogies. The CogAt screening test will be given to all 3rd graders in BSD schools at the end of October. 

    Students who get 97% or plus in the screening test will be invited to take the full test in Dec. Students who get 99%+ in the full test will be identified as TAG students in elementary school. 

    Sunshine will provide all testing materials for students to practice with. We use the online practice test with instant scoring and report along with the classes. All online practice test reports are saved in your Sunshine account and you may check your child's performance via the "Assessment Tests" link in your account.

Students may take the ITBS math/reading tests by recommendation at the beginning of November. A student in 4th-6th grade who scores in the 99 percentile in ITBS Math, together with a 97% in either the ITBS Reading or CogAt test, will qualify for the SUMMA program in Middle School.     The curriculum is designed for 20-weeks. The class is usually scheduled for the Winter/Spring term.

    The goal of this class is to let students get familiar with the test format and improve the cognitive and reasoning abilities by training. The verbal skills and some Figure cognitive skills in the CogAt test may take more time to build up, which are the common weak areas for most students. 

    Students will get to know the tests and work on the required skills in the class.  Students who already finished the fundeamental CogAt training in Winter/Spring term may join this class to continue refine and improve their CogAt skills.

    The student performance report for test readiness will be delivered to your Sunshine account at the end of the term.

2022 Summer Camp

  • Week 1 (07/11-07/15)

    07/11 to 07/15  5 half day Monday-Friday 9:00am-12:00pm $250/camp Location: Rm 2

    This is the 1st out of 3 ITBS/OSAS Math/Reading camps for 4th and 5th grade in Summer.

    SUMMA ITBS/OSAS Math/Reading Camp I for Grade 4 and 5

    This is a camp for rising 4th and 5th graders in Elementary school who would like to prepare for the SUMMA/TAG Reading/Math tests. The SUMMA Reading/Math tests (either ITBS or OSAS) scoring 99 percentile for both reading and math will qualify the SUMMA program in Middle Schools.

    Oregon Statewide Assessments, OSAS Math/Reading tests are similar as the ITBS Math/Reading tests. BSD schools are offering OSAS math/reading tests for all students from 3rd grade to 5th grade in Spring term since 2022. The OSAS math/reading tests will be used to qualify the TAG in elementary school and SUMMA program in Middle Schools.

    Students will get to know the Math/Reading tests and work on the required skills in the camp. The student performance report for test readiness will be delivered home at the end of the camp.

    This is the 2nd out of 3 ITBS/OSAS Math/Reading camps for 4th and 5th grade in Summer.

    This is the 1st out of 2 CogAt camps.

    Academic Advance and SUMMA Test Preparation CogAt Camp for Grade 3

    This 2 weekly-half-day camp package is to prepare students for the CogAt tests in the coming Fall term.

    This is a SUMMA Package for rising 3rd graders in Elementary school who would like to prepare for the SUMMA CogAt tests. The tests can be selected to take in the coming Fall semester. Scoring 99 percentile in CogAt test will qualify for SUMMA in middle school. Or scoring one 99 percentile in ITBS Math or Reading, plus one 97 percentile in another ITBS test or CogAt test will qualify for SUMMA too. 

    This camp will teach the skills for all 9 sections in CogAt tests and do practice and mock tests. Summer CogAt test preparation are designed to finish by 2 weeks of half-day camps. The week 1 of CogAt Camp will work on Verbal Analogy, Verbal Classification, Verbal Sentence Completion and Number Analogy, Number Puzzles. The week 2 of CogAt camp will focus on Figure Analogy, Figure Classification, Paper Folding and Number Series.

    Note: We will assign an online assessement test for each section along the camp days so that parents will get the student performance report by those online assessment tests.

    This camp will teach the skills for all 9 sections in CogAt tests and do practice and mock tests. Summer CogAt test preparation are designed to finish by 2 weeks of half-day camps. The week 1 of CogAt Camp will work on Verbal Analogy, Verbal Classification, Verbal Sentence Completion and Number Analogy, Number Puzzles. The week 2 of CogAt camp will focus on Figure Analogy, Figure Classification, Paper Folding and Number Series.

    Note: We will assign an online assessement test for each section along the camp days so that parents will get the student performance report by those online assessment tests.

    Academic Advance and SUMMA Test Preparation CogAt Camp for Grade 3

    This 2 weekly-half-day camp package is to prepare students for the CogAt tests in the coming Fall term.

    This is a SUMMA Package for rising 3rd graders in Elementary school who would like to prepare for the SUMMA CogAt tests. The tests can be selected to take in the coming Fall semester. Scoring 99 percentile in CogAt test will qualify for SUMMA in middle school. Or scoring one 99 percentile in ITBS Math or Reading, plus one 97 percentile in another ITBS test or CogAt test will qualify for SUMMA too.
